The Countdown

T minus 10 - time to ramp up the prep. TJ took the GPS communicator out for a spin in Central Park. All working and ready to go.

T minus 9 - storage boxes full of our camping and hiking equipment are now all over our apartment. Time to sort out the piles of items we need for the trip. TJ found his 20 year old wetsuit vest, which he claimed he could still fit into.... barely! Also found my first ever wetsuit bought in Malaysia, over 20 years ago. And no, I am NOT even going to try putting it on!

T minus 8 - packing of box #1 almost done.
Equipment

T minus 7 - more packing done, including the all important portable loo...
Port-a-loo all stocked up!

T minus 6 - gotta have the air mattress ready for a little comfort when we car camp. Its a bit chunky but worth the trouble.
Been also training with our backpacks on.

T minus 5 - stuff is piling up.
Jerry can and duffel bag with our sleeping bags & tent

T minus 4 - TJ spent most of the day finalising the route and synchronizing the gadgets (IPad, GPS, mobile phone, GPS communicator etc). I don't think we can get lost with all the backups.
As for my part, I completed the building's permission to entry forms. We will have some guests staying at our place while we are away and the building requires an official form with details. That's my contribution for the day aside helping with the food list. Instant noodles, Vegemite, peanut butter, hot chocolate to list a few.

T minus 3 - I think we have breakfast, dessert and snack covered. Now for lunch and dinner.
Aussie road trip?

T minus 2 - spent most of the day cleaning our apt. Surprising how long it takes to clean a one bedroom unit thoroughly! Don't want our guests to stay in a filthy place.

ONE MORE SLEEP - that's right. Less than 24 hours to go. Its 9.30pm now and we pick up the car at 7am. All packed and ready. Four loads of washing done and folded. Beds for our house guests are made. Dishwasher emptied and perishables disposed.

Went to Starbucks to get their sachet instant coffee only to realize its bloody expensive. A pack of 12 cost $9.95 and $10.95 floor decaf. Could have bought a jar of Nescafe for under $6! Ended up just getting the decaf as its for me only. TJ is a caffeine guy.

Next challenge will be in the morning, loading the car. Hope there is room for all our gear plus 2 bikes.

First stop, Maine....one can only dream of lobster once we are there.
